I looked up.

There was rain & lightening.

I have floaters in my eyes

but I know I saw Buddha in the sky,

hugging us through the mist or haze

Mother nature blessed us today

w/ her cloudy womb &

wet nourishment.

I sent out an enveloped cluster

of new ideals to the Almighty

but I don't think he wants to hear from me

He gets enough feedback

from his angry creations;

they complain of life's many devastations

They all think they know it so well

If we're all going to Heaven,

why's there a Hell?

I've read the book of truth,

but half the world calls it a lie

I don't know who to believe

as a young girl growing up in

Sin City

I'm adaptable

so my views will change

I'll do anything you want if it's in the rain

My love is a vacant one,

but it is over-flowing with possibility

All my words, all my lies, all these things I let you see

I'll kiss you in a wild storm, beneath a pepper tree

my skin will be damp and so will yours

Maybe then there will be

it was far beyond the things I thought I knew.

She was a mystic angel of doom!

Her eyes were dangerous magnetic moons,

barely earthbound but mysterious and familiar

all the same

all anew

brought by night and sent from an old lover

today, today!

or was it tomorrow I wanted you?

a distinct symbol of freedom

ethereal blue

i'm your crazy ocean, too

spilling waves of destiny and secrets of love

scratching away at what you conceal

can i be real

about these ways I feel?

oh I keep forgetting what to say

do you not like my turbulent ways?

I am not lost, but I'm long from found

a shadow that's drifted alone on hollow grounds

i saw a group of ladies

dancing naked to a song in the wind.

I wondered quite quietly

who they were

Can you ask me tomorrow?

Today never knows

you're made of cherry stems.

I followed my impulse

& soon discovered

who I am w/out any walls-

Awake and alive-

Art breeds young gentlemen

just like you break horses

and all of mine come from my subconscious.

It's unlikely that I'll tell our story again-

it's one I hope to leave alone-

Music still haunts me, because I know you're blowing away-

In a time and place

the human race

has been forgotten,

a severe disgrace-

An image of love

is now a gross thought

the media is making us

alone and distraught

we fight the influence

but don't battle drugs

seeing our daughter's dream man

selling coke to young thugs

sex appeal is high

and so are the youth

they're snorting glue in 5th grade

facing passive-aggressive abuse

It's not too late to run

but the message is gone

your commercials are telling us

nature is wrong

We need drugs to be beautiful

and therapy to survive

we need to party all night

or we don't feel alive-

The city's are dirty

but we pretend that they're clean

inside the club

dancing dances obscene-

If you think you're on the right path

got your morals and rules

but they're the wrong set

because you look like a fool

Our destiny is shallow

and time's wearing thin

if you want to make change,

let go and begin!

The grasshopper hopped along

he hopped until his legs grew

and his wings became front legs

and his antennas were ears

and he grew a body of brown fur

and he turned into a deer.

As a deer, he happened across a patch of mushrooms

and there were pixies around that fungi

he fell madly in love.

As a deer, he trotted with his other deer friends

but they knew he was secretly a grasshopper

and rejected him with blows of their antlers.

He continued on, alone, and found himself in many places.

At the ocean, he saw some seashells

and fell in love again.

He ran through the seawater until a fish saw him

and told him that deers don't go in the ocean.

As a deer, he journeyed on four legs.

Sometimes he'd run into other deer who wanted to mate with him

He would run for his life when this happened.

One day, as a deer, he happened across a tall plant

he chewed its leaves, but then the plant cried out

"i've been looking for a creature like you!"

And the deer fell in love again.

But the plant loved the deer too much so he ran far away.

Alone in a meadow one day,

a butterfly landed on his nose.

He remembered the days when he was a grasshopper

and the butterfly loved him.

But this butterfly wasn't the same, it wasn't bright,

and it had no colors.

"Where's my butterfly?" he wondered.

But then he saw the pixies again

and they hugged him tight.

"Butterflies do not live very long," they said.

The fairies slept in seashells

and ate tall plants.

With the pixies,

the deer ran free and happily.

He realized the cycle of life flows freely through everything-

it will never be stopped.

There is beauty at every stage

and lovers in many shapes and sizes.

So the deer danced along through the wind-

his good friend Erin.

Erin is the wind and he loved her too.

They swirled and spiraled and became one once more.

So now he is in the wind

he is Erin

a personified image of one of my many

alter egos.

There was a small scene

decked out with a beginning, middle and end

Cause that's how stories exist, right?

It was a grasshopper on the edge of a building

yes, he was threatening to jump to his death

and he surely would have,

if not for the tantric butterfly who observed from afar-

his glass eyes were maniacal but quite tender.

Why do you do that? he asked

the grasshopper, shaken from the intensity of his own thoughts

yelled, I no longer wish to be a mere orthoptera!

The butterfly flew beside the grasshopper

What is wrong with that? he asked

I have incomplete metamorphosis! he cried, clicking his back legs together

Just look at you! you are a butterfly with beautiful wings and four stages of life-

egg, larva, pupa, and adult! what am i? A puny caelifera,

I have three small stages of life, and no beautiful metamorphosis.

I have no period of dramatic change, I cannot grow into something beautiful

like you can.

The butterfly contemplated this.

For they both existed on Middle Earth,

both had life cycles and colors on their bodies,

both ate products of nature and mated and laid eggs,

they both flew and were rather small,

how could such a small difference of metamorphosis matter so much?

So, the butterfly told the grasshopper all of this

Anxiously, the grasshopper listened.

When the butterfly had finished

the grasshopper said

I supposed you are right, dear butterfly,

can we be lovers?

The butterfly said it was not possible,

because they were not the same species

it wouldn't work

they were too different.

The grasshopper replied,

Oh, you are right again.

And he jumped.

I can't keep up with your games

The stars are laughing at me, it seems

Destiny knows me too well

I gave you five and you changed your mind

What a surprise

Destiny gave me a spear

told me to throw it at any sign of life

so I tossed it at you

It struck you deep and hit me too

time flew by with wide wings

and you chased time as it went

My spear was left in me

I asked Destiny-

Is this wrong?

Destiny dropped me into a circle

and I danced with the fungus of the gods

Until i awoke and realized fifteen weeks had passed in one night

Don't build me a castle

and i'm sick of apologies

the tension built its own castle

without you knowing

and I don't know where you are anymore.

I searched the globe with my spyglass

and someone said you'd journeyed away

I couldn't die for emptiness

so I jumped

and kissed Destiny-

Destiny accepted me

as she accepts all

and I saw my wings.

now I'm flying everywhere

and I've even seen small pixies.

Euphoria came

and I don't expect to run into you again

i can't die for emptiness

I have several spears now

and I'm hoping to send them all out

Why do you think I constantly exhort YOU to become an agent of change? I've got my own schemes and machinations to that end, but I want to see the manner in which the MACHINE™ deals with you before I finalize MY game plan.

You see, to be effective as a catalyst, one has to confront the problem of scale. You CAN NOT bring the MACHINE™ down. You can't even slow it down. Icy put his green glasses on & the world transformed.

Tall, fantazical trees erupted from the cold ground & formed a hideaway canopy around him. Moss spread along the hard floor, making it pleasant to the touch. He fell to his butt and watched the walls dissolve into rows of upside-down crosshatch flowers, much bigger than him. the ceiling was gone, replaced by a hazy purple mist that swirled in pretty circles.

His mommy, daddy, & sister turned into different creatures. His sister was a yellow ferret, his daddy a purple & scaly dragon with reading glasses, and his mommy turned into a chocolate milk-filled sippy cup. He let out a squeal in surprise but they ignored him.

He turned away from them & crawled on the moss, his fingers exploring the exotic sensation it brought. He reached a place nearby where the sun was shining through the trees and laid on his back, fascinated by how the world looked upside-down. He slowly fell asleep....

When he opened his eyes years later, he realized he'd lost his glasses. He couldn't find them anywhere & cried to himself in defeat.

Melan eloped through the Land of StarButtles. There were giant crystal mtns w/ symmetrical patterns of green cascading across their surfaces, and they lined up & down the valley, forming something of a giant pathway. Melan hoped it would lead somewhere promising. A land of sparkly butterflies? Alas, not. BUT, when the crystal mtns eventually dispersed, she found herself at the edge of glorious, rainbow waterfall!

All the waters swirled &twirled & poured into many different colors & many different shades of these colors. The sound hurt her ears. But instead of a roaring ring, the water seemed to fall & hit against land & itself in something of a tune. It somewhat resembled a Dear Mother song, notoriously written, composed & record by SeeSeeBee. (cake bake betty_) ...not that Melan had ever heard such a song before now. Either way, Melan approached the dropoff confidently. She held tight on to Teddy & jumped.

She didn't fall. Luckily, she had the miraculous skill of ParaSoaring. She sailed breezily through the air * made a soft landing on the shiny blue grass, just beside the pool below the waterfall. however down here, the water was not water at all. Instead, it seemed to be sand. Golden sand. no seashells, or rocks. Or dead jellyfish. Just sand. It piled softly for a few minutes or so & then drained away and the process repeated. Melan brushed some bits of sand from Teddy's head &then swung him at her side as she skipped into a bright field.

The blue grass was kind of dewie covered & shiny. It looked soft & warm. On the grass were some people!!! The We. They were actually faeries in disguise, but that was a secret that Melan would keep to her grave. They wore nothing, and Melan wondered if she should take her clothes off to. She decided against it.... cause she left her boobies in a cupboard downstairs after they got wasted.

The people were kneeling in very small groups around the tangerine trees. Praying. They were praying. Mesmerized, Melan dropped Teddy and ran to a tree. "Kneel, daughter," the tree spoke. She kneeled. "Now, pray to me." She did that too.

Meanwhile, Melan is searching for a way out of her invisibility cloak... "Surely the zipper is around here somewhere..."

Just then, the princess finds herself lost in the Showers of OldScolds, and seeks shelter in a nearby tunnel. Little does she know... there is a hidden corpse in its walls....--->

As the Princess is captivated by the corpse, Ella, a small enchantress appears by saying a secret spell & proceeds to perform an ancient skippy dance, traditionally used by the Brigade Babies, to hide from the evil one-eyed giant, Byro. Unfortunately, Byro has his crazy man-eating wolf on the loose, sniffing her out. Ella is unable to vanquish the beasts and bursts into tears, vanishing from the Battlegrounds. In theory, there are those kinds of days, the kinds where the sky has not a flash of blue, not a speck of color, when the entire bit of sky in your view is perfectly white. Perfectly, it possessively is white. This was one of those days. And when there is no color in the sky, one begins to see color on the earth itself... the glorious rainbows produced by tiny flowers & their even tinier petals, leaves created in their garish dew drops, & those rather impeccably small touches of intimate life... miniature shells, & the secretive gooey bodies within, so shy as to hide from even the slightest sound or vibration. a shiny residue left behind from their fearful whole-body orgasms. Goopy, slippery, foul. But oh so fantastically beautiful. Yes, each detail of the tiny ecosphere the very small but terribly grand ecosystem, was so incredibly detailed together with 15, 000 times the care a loving mother gives to her suckling child. One small creature would take a lifetime for our simpleminded selves to comprehend. How can we not see the tiny amounts of pride that Mother Nature gives us? or the reasons she has to even be the tiniest bit proud. And though she is proud, she is not selfish. She guards her kin but gives too easily while asking for nothing in return. We can ask ourselves a thousand times how such a phantasmagorical reality could exist... and yet we shall never know the answer. There are many answers provided here, but so few of us have the courage, patience, or desire to look close enough...

maybe there is no purpose in falling from such a great height... she sees nothing here other than a depth and a fall that is grand, so grand and unexplored but also more frightening than she could ever know.. she is afraid to fall.. falling and hitting the bottom. For is it a result that matters most in the endeavors of a human, or is it the journey there? We work for the result and if that is the case, then falling must be a waste... but if falling is more important than the landing... it is more worthy of time than any other thing in the world... a thing of beauty, falling is... exhilaration, adrenaline.. the highest most exciting roller coaster you'll ever ride...but the end of it is unknown.. it can sometimes lead to downfall, to your death on a subconscious or consciously epic level.. sometimes it can injure you only slightly... but other times... very few times... it will last and it will be permanent in your heart... it will hold you so tight in its captivation that you will only be able to ponder what life was previously, when you were atop your height, before you fell.. but either way the fall is glorious and mustn't be denied if face with.. so fall... fall fall fall fall fall... the time to fall is now...

There is no life here

only broken bones and

scattered dreams.

Occasionally you may see

a bit of sage or creosote

sprouting its way through the dust

making rocks crumble with its weak

determination

But otherwise

you shall see nothing.

It wasn't always like this,

no,

it was once lively and fruitful

But honesty and beauty compassion and love

slowly began to evaporate

(and was eaten by the flies).

No one tried to stop this finale

mostly due to ignorance

The few who knew of its desperation

were killed

killed by greed and hate

[all forms of darkness, I suppose]

It doesn't matter now

the dust has consumed everything

So we needn't worry

about our Fear
